Requirements for marriage contract

    Requirements for marriage contract

 

  1. The bride, groom and the bride's guardian must appear with their ID cards and original family booklet.
  2. Two witnesses who know the bride and her guardian must appear with their original ID cards.
  3. The bride and groom must bring pre-marital medical reports issued by an accredited hospital.
  4. The bride must give her explicit consent to the marriage. The marriage registrar will ask the bride about her consent and terms for marriage.
  5. The amount of dowry must be determined, whether it has been paid or not, and the advance and deferred amounts of dowry must be specified.
  6. If the bride is divorced, she must bring the original divorce certificate and make sure that her waiting period (iddah) has ended.
  7. If the marriage contract is being conducted on behalf of the guardian or the groom, the original power of attorney must be brought.
  8. If the bride's father or husband has died, the original legal heirs certificate must be brought. ​
